Paris Saint-Germain quietly hopeful of agreeing new contract with Kylian Mbappe
As Paris Saint-Germain feverishly tried to offload Kylian Mbappe before the end of the transfer season, his departure from the French champions seemed to be a foregone conclusion.
As his current deal expires at the conclusion of the current campaign and he has refused to sign a new one, Mbappe may become a free agent in the summer of 2019.
He is on the transfer list because PSG really wants this to not be the case. They have not, according to Diario AS, ruled out the idea of him signing a new contract, and there is cautious hope on this front.
Mbappe has been on Real Madrid's radar, maybe this summer or next. The 24-year-old signed a new deal with the French champions against all odds last year, rejecting Los Blancos in the process. A renewal, though, would probably imply that he stays at PSG.
