Arsenal's success in the transfer window is shown by how hard it was for City to sign Gvardiol
After doing well early in the window, Arsenal is happy to see that Manchester City is having trouble signing Josko Gvardiol.
There were rumors that Manchester City was about to sign Josko Gvardiol, but it looks like there are some problems with the move. Remember how tight the Declan Rice deal got as Arsenal moved to get their top priority?
Fabrizio Romano wrote in The Guardian that Manchester City and RB Leipzig had agreed on a price for Gvardiol and that the player had finished the first part of his medical. But since then, Marco Rose, the head coach of Leipzig, has said that this might not be true.
He said, "Josko is one of our players, and as far as I know, he will continue to be one of our players." "I don't know a thing about a medical check, a first check, or a second check.
"I think if it was, as head coach I would know!"
Interesting. It looks like the deal isn't going as well as planned, which shows again how well Edu Gaspar, Arsenal's sports director, has done at getting the club's top priorities this summer.
In addition to Rice, Arsenal has brought in Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber, both of whom played well in their preseason game against the MLS All-Stars on Thursday morning. The quick business gave Mikel Arteta early access to his new stars so that he could start integrating them into the group as soon as possible before the new season.
In the Community Shield, Arsenal will play against Man City. It will be a good indicator of how the two teams will do in the coming season, even though Liverpool's win in the 2022 match-up led to a very different result at the end of the season.
So far, though, Man City's signing of Matteo Kovacic, Ilkay Gundogan's leave, and the possible losses of Joao Cancelo, Bernardo Silva, and Riyad Mahrez can be seen as a chance for Arsenal. For Arsenal's title foes, the end of the window is sure to be a busy one.
